Junior School Swimming Carnival

The Junior School Swimming Carnival will be going ahead as planned!
Permission Note and Program will be sent home.
As there are COVID-19 restrictions in place at Bexley Aquatic Centre SPECTATORS will not be able to attend on the day.
All students are required to catch the bus to the carnival from school leaving at 8AM and will be returned to school after the carnival for normal dismissal times.
Students that travel by mini bus on that day will be dropped off at Bexley Aquatic Centre and will return to school to travel on the mini bus home.
Danebank Twilight Swim Meet
Danebank Twilight Swim Meet is held over 3 Friday afternoons in Term 1, 2021.
Dates: Friday 29th January
5th , 12th February, 2021 (Weeks 1-3, Term 1)
Time: 5:00pm – 6:00pm (warm-up from 4:30pm)
Cost: $30 (covers 3 weeks and is billed to Term account, no refunds for missed weeks)
Venue: Danebank Aquatic Centre
Program: 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly (girls can choose to do all or some of the events)
Swimming ability: Girls MUST be able to swim 50m (2 laps of Danebank pool)
Parent Helpers: We will need parent helpers each week but because of COVID-19 restrictions we ask that you email Mrs Cullen to let us know if you are available to help. We will nominate a Friday that best suits you and enables all parents who wish to help a opportunity to do so.
NOTE: The purpose of the twilight swimming program is to practice racing of all four competitive strokes over a distance of 50 metres. The aim is to make swimmers familiar with racing protocol, build endurance and become ready to race. This differs from Learn to Swim lessons as the focus is on skills and correct technique and mastering swimming fundamentals before advancing to the next level.
